Frequently Asked Questions About Bass Fishing in Orlando

Planning a guided bass fishing trip in Orlando? We’ve gathered answers to the most common questions about what to expect, what to bring, and how to make the most of your day on the water with Orlando Bass Fishing Charters. Whether you’re new to fishing or a seasoned angler, this page will help you prepare for an unforgettable charter experience.

What time do we meet?

Start times vary based on the season, the length of your charter, and the type of experience you’re looking for.

Captain Goggles will personally contact you before your trip to confirm the time, location, and go over your goals for an amazing day on the water.

What happens if we have to cancel?

Deposits are non-refundable.

If you need to cancel, you may do so up to seven business days before your scheduled trip.

Cancellations made within seven days of your trip will result in the full charter amount being charged.

What if it rains or there's bad weather?

We fish rain or shine, and rain jackets will be provided if needed.

However, your safety is always the top priority.

If your captain determines that weather conditions are unsafe, we’ll do our best to reschedule your trip.

If rescheduling isn’t possible, you’ll receive a refund of your deposit.

Where do we meet for our charter?

All trips take place on lakes throughout the Orlando area, and the exact meeting location depends on where the fish are biting best that day.

We typically meet at one of the following public boat ramps:

  • Winter Park Chain – Dinky Dock Park (Winter Park)
  • Butler Chain – R.D. Keene Park (Windermere)
  • Conway Chain – Randolph Street Boat Ramp (Orlando)

Capt. Goggles will always confirm the exact meeting location prior to your trip.

What might we catch on our charter?

Depending on the season and conditions, you may catch crappie, bluegill, or gar in addition to bass.

Your guide will tailor your experience based on your goals and what’s biting.

Can we keep the fish we catch?

Keeping fish is sometimes an option, depending on the species, season, and regulations. Your captain will let you know what’s legal and appropriate at the time of your trip.

Whether you’re looking to keep a fish or release it, the focus is always on conservation and creating a great experience on the water.

Are we allowed to tip the Captain?

Absolutely! Gratuities are always appreciated and reflect the level of service provided.

It’s customary to tip your Captain 20% or more of the charter cost for a job well done.

Do we need fishing licenses?

A valid Florida freshwater fishing license is required for anyone 16 or older.

You can purchase one online here:

Can we bring alcohol on a fishing charter?

Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own beer or other beverages, and we’ll have a cooler with ice on board to keep them cold.

We just ask that you drink responsibly and avoid bringing any glass containers for safety reasons.

Who will be my fishing guide?

Capt. Goggles leads a team of experienced local fishing guides who share the same passion for Central Florida bass fishing. Depending on availability, your trip may be guided by Capt. Goggles or another member of the team. Every captain is committed to providing the same great experience, local knowledge and personal attention that guests have come to expect from Orlando Bass Fishing Charters.

How many people can go on a charter?

Our charters can accommodate up to 6 guests, plus your Captain.

This ensures a safe, comfortable experience with plenty of room to fish and relax on board.

What if we would like to go longer?

Of course! If you’re on a charter with us and would like to extend your trip, we’ll be happy to accommodate—so long as our booking calendar allows.

Just let your Captain know during the trip, and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
