Summer patterns are in full swing across the Orlando area, and early mornings continue to provide the best action. Bass are schooling heavily during the first few hours of daylight, creating excellent opportunities for anglers looking to catch numbers of fish and stay busy throughout the trip.
Small minnow-style jigs and soft jerkbaits like flukes have been producing consistent results around bait schools and active fish. As the sun climbs higher and fish move deeper, slowing down with soft plastics worked along the bottom has been the key to keeping bites coming.
While the numbers bite has been excellent, anglers looking for larger bass are finding their best success with live bait. Wild shiners continue to produce many of the biggest fish of the season and remain the top choice for targeting trophy-class largemouth bass.
