The early morning bite continues to be the most productive, with schooling bass feeding aggressively around the Winter Park Chain of Lakes during the first couple of hours after sunrise. Getting on the water early has been the key to consistent action before the summer heat sets in.
Soft plastic flukes, speed lures and live wild shiners have all been producing quality fish. Focus on active schools early, then slow down around grass edges and offshore structure as the morning progresses.
With warm summer conditions, expect the bite to taper off later in the morning, so an early start will give you the best opportunity for both numbers and quality bass.
